Here is a rare opportunity to own a superb pre-war BSA with matching. original engine & frame.
This is the rare Silver-Star B24 model made only in 1939. a renamed version of Val Page's revamped Empire Star.
This bike is in superb condition. It starts easily and sounds absolutely wonderful both mechanically and on the exhaust note.
It is in excellent rideable condition. Everything works well. The forks are superb. good brakes. gearbox and clutch are spot on. good charge from dynamo. speedometer is working well. It is remarkably quick for a 350. certainly more sprightly than most immediate postwar & 1950‘s 350cc machines!
The bike comes with V5C and the usual bundle of old MOTs. The registration is USY 283 (cannot be transferred to another vehicle). Frame number is KB24 776. engine number KB24 403 both of these match the factory records and both are genuine factory stampings. According to the records it left the factory on 18th November 1938 for Wests Ltd of Lincoln. Date of registration is 16th March 1939.
Cosmetically the bike is in lovely condition. The stove enamel on the frame is of a high quality and in beautiful condition. As is the rest of the black enamel on the tinware etc. The tank has very nice silver paint. slightly aged but the tank pin-stripes are stick-on.
Seat & pillion are nice period items in good looking condition. Front rim is very good. some minor flecks in the chrome. It is stamped “Made in England” probably a CWC item. Spokes & nipples front & rear are unpolished stainless. Rear rim is practically perfect Dunlop.
Front tyre is ribbed Avon speedmaster . as new. rear is Avon SM MKII also hardly used.
